Briteyellow was selected to attend a trade visit to India which was UK Prime Minister Theresa May’s first bilateral visit outside Europe since taking office.
With its focus on wireless innovation, Briteyellow is engaged in bringing WiFi and sensor applications for Indoor Location and Internet of Things solutions to market.
The company’s vision is to provide a virtual guide for the worlds’ indoor spaces, based on patent pending “3D indoor GPS” technology.
The Indian technology market is huge, as are the opportunities for Briteyellow.
UK Prime Minister Theresa May told the Tech Summit: “With three Indians experiencing the internet for the first time every second, with the country on course to be a digital market of one billion people, and with so many graduates launching start-ups from Mumbai to Hyderabad – or Cyberabad, as it’s known – this is an area filled with opportunities.
“That is exactly what we are doing with this delegation – bringing along some of our biggest, most successful companies and our brightest start-ups, from every region of the UK, in order to open up new markets for them and promote them to the wider world.”
India has one of the world’s largest smart cities programmes. With the second largest population in the world and one of the fastest growing, it has a need to manage the movement of large numbers of people across facilities in its smart cities. Doing this in a way that is personalised and smart is Briteyellow’s compelling proposition.
Technology entrepreneur Fredi Nonyelu, the Founder and Chief Executive of Briteyellow, said: “We see a massive market opportunity across airports, shopping centres, stadia, museums, hospitals etc.

Fredi had the opportunity to meet the UK Secretary of State for International Trade, Liam Fox, and explain Briteyellow’s BriteLocate3D pedestrian smart mobility software-as-a-service platform (SaaS) for Indoor Location and Internet of Things applications. BriteLocate3D is a smart mobility platform that provides better engagement and analytics for smart city operators who need to offer pedestrians better indoor wayfinding.
