Shopping – and what goes to make retail therapy a great experience – was a subject of a survey carried out by Briteyellow.

Visitors to regional shopping destination thecentre:mk in Milton Keynes were given the BriteLocate3D app on their smartphones and asked for their responses on a range of issues.

BriteLocate3D provides class leading location accuracy indoors for high football venues such as airports, shopping malls, department stores, stadia, and visitor attractions.

Two standout issues emerged.

Firstly, respondents saw the app as much better than 2D maps as a way of moving around and finding stores. In addition to this, respondents saw the app as a great way of receiving offers from retail outlets.

Fredi Nonyelu, chief executive of Briteyellow, said: Respondents were asked about their thoughts and opinions about the app. The majority of them concluded that the app was “nice”, “good” and it’s a “great idea”.

“Most were excited about the stores and shops depicted in the technology. The consensus was that it’s a great way to get information and make their shopping more fun, easier and interesting.”

Some others had the following comments to make.

Ø Better than the signs – (Tourist, 18-35)

Ø If it’s meant for advertisement, then it’s a great idea; we know what the stores do already- Respondent, (Resident, 50-65)

Ø Might be better than Google and the picture is brilliant – (Resident, 18-35)

Ø I think it’s a nice product. It is better than the map- (tourist/visitor, 35-50)

Ø It’s different; I like that it shows actual shops- (Resident, 18-35)
