Briteyellow selected for Billion Journey Project

Briteyellow has been selected to join a three-month scale-up accelerator programme from the Go-Ahead Group, one of the UK’s largest public transport providers.

The Billion Journey Project, named after the billion passenger journeys enabled by the organisation each year, brings together innovative companies looking to scale up in the transport sector.

Briteyellow was one of 10 finalists selected for the programme from more than 100 applications. The company helps customers increase productivity, user engagement, and interaction with 3D positioning and navigation technology for GPS-denied places

“The Billion Journey Project is the next level of Innovation in the transport sector, linking bus and rail for the first time, with the ability to positively impact one billion passenger journeys,” said Ian McLaren, CFO Govia Thameslink Railway. “This is not only exciting for Go-Ahead Group but represents a truly exciting opportunity for the future of the industry as a whole.”

The programme offers deep immersion into the bus and rail sector unparalleled access to Go-Ahead leadership, data and infrastructure to help develop proofs of concept and scale solutions across the industry.

Fredi Nonyelu, chief executive of Briteyellow, said: “We joined this innovation-friendly programme because we believe our solutions are a perfect fit for the transport sector, and we are excited by our involvement in and contribution to the Billion Journey Project."

Briteyellow provides custom location and wayfinding solutions through its BriteLocate3D software and IoT platform. The platform provides geolocation solutions in both indoor wayfinding and outdoor location scenarios. The platform upgrades easily to allow local content delivery via a mobile or web app; and enables rapid creation of custom geo-mixed reality apps for engagement and interactions.

Briteyellow's navigation, positioning, tracking, mapping, and wayfinding solutions generate geolocation data that provide better insight into footfall or assets, which help the operators and manager of large venues. Because BriteLocate3D is unhindered by GPS-denied places, the platform is ideal for indoor location, navigation, mapping and wayfinding solutions in large enclosed venues.

The Billion Journey Project culminates in a Demo Day in London on November 27, which will be attended by more than 200 guests including leaders from across the Go-Ahead Group and other major transport organisations, the Department of Transport, local authorities, suppliers, investors and the media.
