Destination Milton Keynes (DMK) the Milton Keynes tourism services provider and Briteyellow Limited, provider of next-generation telecommunication services have announced the launch of a new free mobile phone tourist information service for Milton Keynes and the surrounding area.
Tourists and visitors to Milton Keynes can now make enquiries and receive information instantly including: ‘What’s on’, bus travel, bed and breakfast, shopping, hotels, and local attractions by sending an SMS text enquiry from their mobile phone. There is no charge to end users from Destination Milton Keynes or Briteyellow for using the service.
“This will make a big difference to our service quality and responsiveness,” said Jackie Inskipp, general manager, Destination Milton Keynes. “We receive a large number of telephone enquiries from visitors. With this automated mobile phone service, we can now handle more enquires without additional resources.”
The DMK Mobile service is powered by Briteyellow’s Oneaccess mobile information system. It is expected to go live on June 27th 2008.

Anyone can make a free enquiry to DMK Mobile simply by texting “dmk” to 07797 805724. Once the text has been sent the user will receive a message containing an options menu from where they can select the information required. The information requested is sent instantly by SMS text message or a web link if the mobile phone used has internet access enabled.
User’s existing mobile operator may charge for SMS or data sent or downloaded from their phone.
