A tier 1 UK University with several thousand students had no internet access from the halls of residence on campus. The University wanted to provide internet services to improve the learning environment and give students better access to information.

Because the campus covered a large area making digging of cabling expensive the managemet decided to outsource the network design and management.

Briteyellow designed, installed, and managed a Britezone wireless internet service. Operated on behalf of the University as an outsourced service it provided a wirefree solution that eliminated the need to dig cabling to the students halls or wire the buildings.

Briteyellow also provided on-site support and management to promote the facility to students.

The Britezone service now allows students to log onto the internet at broadband speeds for lower cost than commercial broadband service.
