Ashorne Hill Secure Wireless Future

Ashorne Hill management training centre, near Leamington Spa in Warwickshire, has installed a wireless network over its entire campus. The ambitious project, undertaken by Briteyellow, brings secure wireless communication to the venue’s 118 en suite bedrooms and 42 training rooms.
Their Business Improvement Manager, Matthew Hayes, greeted the project, “The future is wireless. In a few years time people will find it extremely inconvenient and really strange if they have to plug in. It makes sense for us to embrace leading-edge technology now.”
| Scalability and flexibility were essential elements of the network. There were also the specific difficulties of their old high density walls and a restriction on physical works allowed to the listed building. |
“Scalability was the driver in this project so we looked for a technically advanced supplier,” said Matthew, “Briteyellow has built a network that we can extend easily, without specialist knowledge and without the need to cause disruption. There’ll be no need to dig up ground, lay cables or call in engineers every time we want to make changes, as would be the case with a traditional access point network.”
The network will become the backbone of the centre’s IT system so a very high degree of security was required. “The Briteyellow solution has delivered a myriad of security tools which allow us to configure the network exactly as we want it at any given time,” hailed Matthew, “we’re confident we’ve installed a system which is robust enough to meet any security challenges which may arise.”
The Briteyellow wireless mesh solution has been configured to equip Ashorne Hill to develop a steady stream of new services for training organisations and delegates. “As the technology develops we expect to be offering an increased range of services,” said Matthew, “some will be available freely to all delegates and for others we will charge. The Briteyellow solution already factors in our requirements. We’re looking to the future now and making provision so that we can lead the way in offering the latest communications services as they become available.”
